The Evangelism Ministry of Webster Memorial United Church is committed to equipping and empowering Christians to boldly share the message of the Gospel wherever they go. Recognizing the biblical mandate to make disciples of all nations, this ministry inspires believers to live as God’s messengers, actively spreading the Good News to those around them.
Under the leadership of Cynthia Clarke and Lesmalene Morris, the Evangelism Ministry serves as a vital arm of outreach, fostering a culture of evangelism within and beyond the church walls. With a range of sub-ministries, each designed to target different areas of engagement, this ministry is transforming lives and communities.
Sub-Ministries:
Culture of Evangelism (and Training)
This sub-ministry trains and inspires new and existing members by exposing them to the principles and practices of evangelism. Through workshops, worship services, and media, it helps build confidence and equips members with the skills needed to share their faith effectively.
Tell Evangelism
Taking the Good News outside the church, this sub-ministry connects with the unsaved in communities, schools, and workplaces. From leading devotions in schools and corporate offices to engaging communities through mobile evangelism, it creates opportunities for individuals to hear and respond to the message of salvation.
Come See Evangelism
Focused on reaching out to first-time and returning visitors, this sub-ministry fosters a welcoming environment that encourages repeat visits, spiritual growth, and active membership. By engaging with persons attending weddings, funerals, or other services, it extends the church’s reach, offering them an invitation to know Christ.
Servant Evangelism
This sub-ministry demonstrates Christ’s love through practical acts of kindness. It connects with children in at least two residential communities through Back-to-School Treats and extends compassion to residents of the Kencot area and Friendship Lane, ensuring the love of Christ is shared in tangible ways.
Mission
Carrying the Good News beyond Kingston and Jamaica, this sub-ministry answers the call to bring salvation to the nations. Whether through local outreach or international missions, it ensures that the light of Christ shines wherever there is a need for hope and transformation.
Get Involved
The Evangelism Ministry offers a variety of ways for members to get involved in fulfilling the Great Commission. Whether you are passionate about community engagement, personal outreach, mentoring others or global missions, there is a place for you to serve.
All talents, gifts, skills are welcomed for the service and glory of God. Together, we can share the love of Christ, one soul at a time.
